Looking at the data alone, Aave remains the undisputed king of DeFi lending.

In 2025, on-chain lending volume grew by 54% year-on-year, with the vast majority of that growth coming from Aave; as of early 2026, Aave's TVL (Total Value Added) remained the highest in the industry, ETH deposits hit an all-time high, and the protocol continued to contribute stable and predictable real revenue to the Ethereum ecosystem.
