Complexity is not the same as complication. Its opposite is simplicity. If you want to be able to hedge in an uncertain world, a mindset of complexity is required, not one of simplicity. The trouble is that most are taught to think in simple theoretical reductionist terms [rationalism.. if they think at all that is]. A mindset of complexity is also an empirical, strategic, and practical one. The kind of mindset a good general in war has - you may lose a battle, but the strategic aim is to win the war.🧐
