According to an on-site report by Inner City Press, during the sentencing hearing in the SafeMoon case, presiding judge Eric Komitee stated that the sentencing guidelines for defendant Braden Karony ranged from 210 to 262 months. Multiple victims stated that they invested based on his public statements and suffered significant financial losses. The defense pleaded for leniency based on his age and personal background. The judge ultimately determined that the case was "closer to theft than ordinary fraud," sentencing Karony to 100 months in prison (to be served concurrently on both charges), and a reparations hearing is scheduled for 10:00 AM on April 23.
