Is the "World Uncertainty Index" the biggest scam in macroeconomics? 🤡 The index literally just counts how many times the word "uncertain" appears in reports. Critics are calling it "digital waffle"... basically, the internet is just better at complaining now than it was in 2001. BUT... if everyone is too scared to spend because the "index" is high, the recession becomes real anyway. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. ♾ Is the world actually ending, or are we just trapped in an infinite feedback loop of doom-scrolling?
