ChainCatcher reports that, according to Theblock, Israeli prosecutors have filed charges against an IDF reservist and a civilian, accusing them of using classified military information to place bets on the blockchain-based prediction market platform Polymarket.
Prosecutors allege that the reservist obtained sensitive operational intelligence through his military position and shared this information with a civilian who then used it to place bets on events related to military operations on Polymarket.
The Tel Aviv District Court has lifted the injunction at the request of the National Prosecutor's Office's cyber division. The suspects were arrested in a joint operation by the Israeli Internal Security Agency, police, and the Ministry of Defense's security investigation department. The two defendants are charged with serious security-related crimes, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
