Binance has also made it clear that if the SAFU fund’s value drops below a certain threshold, they’ll keep topping up. Essentially, this isn’t a trading move, but a risk management strategy: converting stablecoin reserves into BTC as a long-term reserve asset, while reducing exposure to stablecoin issuance risks. The message is clear: as the world’s largest exchange, Binance believes Bitcoin is the most robust long-term value asset. In a market dominated by fear and shrinking volumes, this move sends a strong positive signal and serves as a confidence boost for everyone. CZ tweeted today: “I could be wrong, but I feel this might eventually be good for the SAFU fund.” Personally, I don’t think CZ is wrong at all! Buying BTC with long-term funds at this point is an absolutely savvy move by Binance. Just look at the data these days—whether it’s <10y Realized Price, CVDD, massive EARL panic selling, or super whales starting to accumulate—it all points to the same conclusion: Maybe we’re not at the absolute bottom of a deep bear yet, but buying BTC around these prices and holding till the next cycle will yield way more than “some” gains. We’re talking at least 100%–200% potential upside. Honestly, CZ’s comments are pretty conservative. In my opinion, $1B is just an appetizer for Binance. They should double down and aim to 10x the scale—prepare $10B to keep scooping up BTC in the next price range.
