A Busan-based technology startup received top marks for the feasibility and transparency of its blockchain-based digital public infrastructure model tailored to international organizations.
Anam145 announced on the 13th that it received the highest rating in the official evaluation of the "SDG Blockchain Accelerator Cohort 2," hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The SDG Blockchain Accelerator is a global innovation program operated by UNDP to address global social issues. Governments, international organizations, universities, and technology companies participate to validate digital solutions applicable to real-world situations.
Anam145 collaborated with the UNDP Liberia Country Office to implement a project to digitally improve the local daily activity allowance payment system. Previously, paper registers, manual verification, and payment processes that often took several days to process resulted in recurring administrative burdens and transparency issues.
Accordingly, Anam145 implemented a Universal Short Code (USSD) protocol for mobile phones, compatible with smartphone apps and feature phones. It also added a multi-access payment system combining paper vouchers for users without mobile phones. As a result, payment processing times were shortened to less than a day, while transparency and auditability throughout the entire payment process were improved.
The company's CEO, Lee Jung-hee, is a former professor at Korea University's Graduate School of Information Security. He co-founded Anam145 based on his research in cybersecurity and blockchain. Lee's direct explanation and verification of core technological accountability earned him high trust during the evaluation process.
Anam145 has also been collaborating with the Busan Ilbo to build an official Web3 wallet service for citizens, demonstrating its security and scalability in real-world operational environments. CEO Lee stated, "It's significant that a Busan-based technology company has collaborated with an international organization to implement infrastructure that actually works in the field. Building on the practical experience we've gained in Busan, we will continue to grow into a trusted digital infrastructure company in the global public and international markets."
