The film "Kung Fu Hustle," adapted from Giddens Ko's "Urban Horror" series of novels of the same name, officially premiered in Taiwan today (February 13). This fantasy action film, directed and written by Giddens Ko and produced by Machi D'Aguilar Films under Jeff Huang, had a production cost of nearly NT$300 million, making it a rare large-scale investment for a Taiwanese film in the past decade.
The production team hired the top South Korean action team Triple A and action director Jang Jae-wook for an international collaboration, and assembled a cast including Kai Ko, Leon Dai, Wang Jing, Chu Hsuan-yang, and Liu Kuan-ting. Filming took two years to complete. Both the scale of the production and the cast demonstrate Huang Li-cheng's full support for Taiwanese films.
On Hyperliquid, Machi Big Brother's "kung fu" is not yet fully mastered.
Huang Licheng is widely known in the crypto as machibigbrother. However, since October 2025, his trading record on the decentralized derivatives platform Hyperliquid has been a dramatic series of liquidations that looks more dramatic than a movie.
- A total of 241 liquidations have occurred.
- The company suffered losses exceeding US$71 million (approximately NT$2.3 billion) within four months.
- Main operation: Long on Ethereum (ETH) with 25x leverage.
- The account once had only $20,815 left.
- After each margin call, he would "instantly open new positions" and continuously deposit USDC to continue long.
With 25x leverage, a mere 4% adverse price movement can trigger a liquidation. When the price of ETH retraces, Machi Big Brother's response remains consistent: get up, deposit money, open another position, and long—he's practically a perpetual motion machine for bullish positions.
This never-give-up spirit earned him the title of "King of Liquidation" in the crypto community.
How many "Kung Fu Hustle" movies could that money make?
Machi Big Brother' losses at Hyperliquid (approximately NT$2.3 billion)
Dividing this by the production cost of "Kung Fu Hustle" (nearly NT$300 million) equals approximately 7.7 "Kung Fu Hustle" films.
To understand it in another way:
If all this money were used to make movies, Giddens Ko could direct seven more domestic blockbusters of the same scale. Thank you, boss.
Alternatively, based on the average production budget of NT$30-50 million for a typical Taiwanese film, this amount of money is enough to invest in 46 to 77 Taiwanese films.
It could even allow Kai Ko to play a character from high school student to retirement.
Making a movie vs. long on ETH
Interestingly, the contrast between Machi Big Brother two identities forms the biggest contrast at the beginning of 2026.
As a film producer, his willingness to invest NT$300 million in the film demonstrates his confidence in Taiwan's film and television industry.
As a crypto trader, machibigbrother repeatedly long on ETH on Hyperliquid with 25x leverage, burning through the equivalent of 7.7 blockbuster Chinese films in 4 months. However, after each liquidation, he still believed that the price would rise for several consecutive days.
Perhaps the real skill lies not in how many times you make a mistake, but in believing that the market will rise every time.
Regardless, *Kung Fu Hustle* officially premieres today. Whether you're in the crypto or a movie buff, you can check it out during your Lunar New Year break if you're holding cash. As for Machi Big Brother's next Hyperliquid trade? Few can learn that kind of kung fu with unlimited bullets.
