According to a report by The Block on February TechFlow, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, South Korea, lost 22 bitcoins stored in a cold wallet since 2021. These digital assets were transferred without explanation, and the police have launched an internal investigation to determine the specific circumstances of the incident and whether any insiders were involved. Currently, the South Korean police have not released further details regarding the flow of funds or possible suspects. Based on current market prices, the lost bitcoins are worth over $1.4 million.
Previously, it was reported that $47.7 million worth of Bitcoin seized by a prosecutor's office in Gwangju, South Korea, was stolen in a phishing attack.
