According to ChainCatcher, Tomasz Stańczak, co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation, will step down at the end of February 2026, and will be succeeded by Bastian Aue, who will co-lead the organization with current co-executive director Hsiao-Wei.
Tomasz stated that over the past year, the Ethereum Foundation has achieved several goals, including accelerating decision-making, enhancing communication with younger generations, revitalizing the builder community, improving open communication on social media and podcasts, becoming more open to institutional participation, supporting founders, and developing treasury policies. After stepping down, Tomasz plans to continue participating in the Ethereum ecosystem as a core developer, focusing on delegated core development and delegated governance. He emphasized that Ethereum is becoming the underlying verification and transaction platform for financial infrastructure, and by 2025 it has become the clear first choice for institutions.
