According to TechFlow TechFlow, on February 13, Tomasz Stańczak, co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation (EF), will step down from his position at the end of February 2026. Bastian Aue will succeed him, and the foundation will co-lead the organization with current co-executive director Hsiao-Wei.
Tomasz stated that over the past year, the Ethereum Foundation has achieved several goals, including accelerating decision-making, enhancing communication with the younger generation, bringing new vitality to the builder community, improving open communication on social media and podcasts, becoming more open to institutional participation, supporting founders, and developing treasury policies.
After stepping down, Tomasz plans to continue participating in the Ethereum ecosystem as a core developer, focusing on proxy core development and proxy governance. He emphasized that Ethereum is becoming the underlying verification and transaction platform for financial infrastructure, and has become the clear first choice for institutions by 2025.
