ZKsync has officially announced the closure of the ZKsync Lite network on May 4th, as the ecosystem shifts its focus to the upgraded ZKsync Era. According to the plan, Block production on ZKsync Lite will completely cease on May 4th. After this date, the network's final state will be "frozen" to ensure the safety of user assets. The team stated that freezing the state aims to maintain data integrity and avoid technical risks after the shutdown.

ZKsync recommends that users withdraw their assets from Lite before May 4th. However, in case they are unable to withdraw in time, the team will provide a dedicated tool so that users can claim back their remaining balance after the Primary Network shuts down. This is to ensure that no assets are lost during the transition process.
Even after the network stops producing Block, ZKsync Lite will maintain its API in read-only mode for at least one year after closure. This allows users and developers to continue accessing data to verify transactions and activity history.
