ChainCatcher reports that GoPlus has issued a security alert regarding a Chrome browser vulnerability that allows malicious extensions to escalate privileges through the Gemini panel. Users are advised to immediately upgrade their Chrome browser to version 143.7499.192 or later.
This vulnerability allows malicious extensions to control the Gemini Live panel in the Chrome browser and thereby escalate privileges, enabling unauthorized access to the camera and microphone, screenshots, and local files. The vulnerability is identified as CVE-2026-0628. Google patched this vulnerability in early January 2026 in Windows/Mac versions 143.7499.192/.193 and Linux version 143.7499.192. Please check and upgrade your Chrome version immediately.
