Cryptocurrency Speculation Increases for Elon Musk’s X (Twitter)! A Significant New Development Has Occurred!

Elon Musk’s social media platform X has hired someone with experience in cryptocurrency products as its design director.

Accordingly, X (formerly Twitter) has hired Benji Taylor, who has extensive experience in cryptocurrency products, as its new head of design.

This move comes after Elon Musk announced that public early access to the platform’s financial app, X Money, could launch as early as April. Earlier this month, Musk stated that X Money could launch in April and offer peer-to-peer transactions, bank deposits, a debit card, and cashback rewards in over 40 US states.

At a time when X announced plans to offer features to support payments and broader financial capabilities on its platform, its decision to hire a designer with hands-on experience in cryptocurrencies also drew attention from the market.

Crypto analyst Willy Woo stated that this move shows X will include cryptocurrency features as it expands into financial applications.

At this point, market analysts believe Taylor’s hiring is a move toward the launch of X Money and cryptocurrencies, while X or its authorized representatives have yet to make a statement regarding whether X Money will incorporate blockchain and cryptocurrency elements.

X product manager Nikita Bier stated that he had been following Taylor for many years and had worked to bring him to the team, adding that one of the products he had designed in the past was one of the best designs he had ever seen.

Taylor said in a statement from the X account, “It’s an honor to lead design at X. X is the world’s leading platform. I believe there’s no more exciting place to build the future together.”

Taylor, who served as Aave’s Chief Product Officer until October 2025, has founded a number of cryptocurrency wallets and most recently held the position of Design Director at Coinbase’s proprietary blockchain, Base.
