According to Foresight News , Gnosis co-founder Friederike Ernst and Zisk founder Jordi Baylina have collaborated to launch the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) framework. This framework is based on the core principle of scaling Ethereum and aims to solve the liquidity fragmentation, cross-chain complexity, and multi-chain deployment problems caused by current L2 fragmentation.
EEZ Rollups will achieve synchronous composability with the Ethereum mainnet, allowing smart contracts to make cross-chain calls to the mainnet or other EEZ Rollups and receive responses within a single transaction, enabling atomic execution, shared liquidity, and a unified security model. Currently, Aave, Titan, Beaver Build, Centrifuge, xStocks, and other institutions have joined as founding members.
Furthermore, the official statement indicates that EEZ is not a product developed by any single team. Gnosis and Zisk are founding contributors, but their goal is to build a shared Ethereum infrastructure. The newly formed EEZ Association, headquartered in Switzerland, is dedicated to developing this project into a fully open-source public infrastructure. All work will be released as free and open-source software.
