According to Foresight News , local volunteers in Thailand have discovered the body of Maxim Garbuzov, a Russian cryptocurrency investor who disappeared in Pattaya last December, in a mass grave for unclaimed foreign remains in Bangkok. Garbuzov went missing after leaving his Pattaya residence on December 24, 2025, and the search lasted nearly five months. Volunteers stated that he died from falling from his hotel room. Thai police delayed finding the body due to a spelling error, leading to its placement in the mass grave. His family is currently trying to exhume and cremate the body before transporting it back to St. Petersburg.
Maxim Garbuzov has lived in Thailand for about two and a half years, mainly engaged in cryptocurrency investment and exchange trading. He holds a sports visa and lives a relatively secluded life.
