🏦 BIS prepares to test a blockchain system using real money to accelerate global payments. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS), seven central banks, and more than 40 financial institutions are preparing to test Project Agorá, a cross-border payment system running on blockchain technology, this time using real money. Money will be converted into Token and run on a shared ledger, allowing banks to transact directly with each other instead of going through multiple intermediary banks as is currently the case.
