The Humanity project has officially announced a comprehensive recovery plan following the serious security incident involving the H Token , an attack that significantly impacted the project's ecosystem and user community across multiple blockchains.
According to the latest announcement from the development team, the old version of the H Token has been completely Delisting from Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain (BSC), and Humanity Mainnet. This move aims to prevent risks arising from compromised smart contracts and to lay the groundwork for the relaunch of the ecosystem with a new, more secure Token version.
To protect user interests, Humanity has deployed a brand-new ERC-20 contract on the Ethereum network. This contract has undergone a security audit to minimize vulnerabilities that could be exploited in the future. The project states that all eligible users will receive the new H Token through an Airdrop program at a 1:1 ratio based on the balance recorded at the Snapshot before the attack occurred.
Notably, the balance calculation process will include the amount of H Token users hold across Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain , and Humanity Mainnet. This helps ensure that legitimate users are not harmed by unforeseen events.
In addition, Humanity also confirmed that wallet addresses identified by investigators and blockchain analytics partners as being linked to the suspected North Korean hacking group will not be eligible to participate in the Airdrop program. This is a measure adopted by many blockchain projects recently to limit the ability of hackers to legitimize stolen assets through new Token distributions.
For more complex cases, such as users who purchased Token after the Snapshot but still hold the assets, or cases involving ownership disputes, Humanity says it will implement a separate compensation fund. Users in this group can submit compensation claims and undergo a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process to be XEM for assistance.
After the transition is complete, the Humanity Mainnet is expected to be relaunched with the new H Token Vai as the network's primary gas currency. This means that all future transactions, application deployments, and ecosystem operations will rely on the new Token version instead of the deactivated old Token .
