The latest development of EOS EVM

Developer Incentive Program

In order to further accelerate the ecological development of EOS EVM, the EOS Network Foundation (ENF) launched the EOS EVM Incentive Program (EEIP) for EVM-based applications. The program aims to provide a $50,000 reward for each qualified and outstanding dApp deployed on the EOS EVM . Participants in the program receive financial support as well as support with marketing and development resources.

The newly announced EOS EVM Incentive Program (EEIP) is expected to play a key role in the development of the EOS EVM ecosystem. Since the launch of the program, a large number of applications have poured into the EOS EVM ecosystem, and EOS community members can expect the EOS EVM ecosystem to continue to expand at an exponential rate in the future and continue to fund the field.

Establish cooperation with BlockSec

In order to promote the adoption of EOS EVM, another major move taken by the EOS Network Foundation is to establish cooperation with the BlockSec team. BlockSec will conduct a comprehensive code audit of the EOS EVM, which is the most thorough and detailed audit to date.

This latest audit will positively impact the EOS EVM ecosystem in several ways:

  • Trust in technology is further built, accelerating technology adoption.
  • Strengthen the ecosystem by providing industry-leading security services to EOS EVM ecosystem partners.

We will provide more information once the audit is complete.

EOS EVM integration

This month, the number of applications launched on the EOS EVM continues to increase. Let us take a brief look at some of these projects below.

OpenBiSea and MotoDEX

OpenBiSea game studio and NFT marketplace have been deployed on EOS EVM. This brings a multi-chain NFT marketplace and MotoDEX Play-to-Earn games to the ecosystem.

MotoDEX is a blockchain game where you can drive motorcycles, develop riders and improve high-speed tracks. In the game, the player tries to reach the finish line in the fastest time.

On July 18th, EOS Network Foundation Communications Manager Brandon Lovejoy participated in an online event to discuss MotoDEX with the OpenBiSea team. Participants of the AMA learned more about the team experience, the main categories of gameplay, the rules of the game, what can be obtained from the game, and the economic model design of the game through this event. Interested readers can check out the discussion process on Telegram .

MathWallet and Collectify

MathWallet is a multi-chain wallet that supports more than 100 blockchains. You can store, transfer and stake your crypto assets using the mobile or desktop version. MathWallet recently announced support for the EOS EVM, and it was promoted through Collectify's recent Giveaway event.

Collectify is an "NFT-as-a-Service" platform that allows you to easily build what your NFT business needs, including no-code tools for minting and giveaway.

Nerve Network

NerveNetwork is a decentralized digital asset service network dedicated to providing safe, free and transparent DeFi services. Recently, the project revealed that it will soon integrate with EOS EVM.

Its products NerveBridge, NerveSwap, NerveFarm and SwapBox will soon fully support EOS EVM and provide seamless bridging services. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon.

EVMNS

The marketing manager of EVMNS revealed the latest news about the progress of the project to the EOS community at the fireside chat, announcing that EOS EVM will soon launch domain name services.

EOS EVM Domain Name Service (EVMNS) is a distributed, open, and scalable decentralized identity (DID) domain name system built on EOS EVM. EVMNS domains allow users to map readable and easy-to-remember names to various content at the same time. Essentially, EVMNS can provide you with a common Web3 username for all your personal information (Twitter, Ethereum, EOS, Telegram, etc.).

Antelope Leap 5.0 Consensus Upgrade Official Announcement

The EOS Network Foundation (ENF) announced the work schedule for the Antelope Leap 5.0 upgrade. This update is a consensus upgrade of the protocols used by EOS and other Antelope -based blockchains. It is planned to be released in 2023. launched in the fourth quarter.

This upgrade will introduce a series of innovative functions, and these functions will implement a large number of new functions, mainly including Instant Finality , HotStuff consensus algorithm integration, and peer-to-peer protocol enhancement and optimization.

The upgrade time is tentatively scheduled from the end of November to the beginning of December 2023.

This upgrade requires the concerted efforts of contributors throughout the ecosystem, and we call on infrastructure providers, technology partners, and Antelope ecosystem contributors to prepare for the upgrade in advance.

*** All EOS node operators must update to Antelope Leap 5.0 prior to the consensus upgrade to stay in sync with the network ***

While the EOS blockchain is already fast, the Instant Finality optimization will improve scalability by shortening the finality time of transactions (i.e. the time until a block is irreversible).

The DPoS consensus mechanism currently adopted by EOS takes about 180 seconds to achieve the finality of the transaction . The HotStuff consensus algorithm improves on this model by using so-called "aggregated signatures", where multiple signatures and multiple public keys can be combined into a single signature and verified as a single P2P operation. HotStuff has significantly improved scalability, and Leap 5 will reduce the time to the last irreversible block from ~180 seconds to a few seconds (~1–3 seconds).

This improvement will greatly benefit Antelope’s trustless IBC , reducing finality between blockchains from minutes to seconds.

Leap 5.0 is a milestone in the evolution of the EOS community. Like the Leap 3.1 consensus upgrade that migrated from EOSIO to Antelope , Leap 5.0 promotes the continuous development of EOS adhering to the community-led mission, giving DPoS more consensus roles. In the current consensus mechanism, the responsibilities of block producers can be divided into three different roles: Block Proposer (block proposer), Consensus Leader (consensus leader) and Block Finalizer (block terminator). HotStuff provides a possible basis for the separation of these different roles mentioned above into independent entities in the future.

At the WebX conference in Tokyo, Japan, Yves La Rose, CEO and co-founder of the EOS Network Foundation, had a fireside chat with Joon Ian Wong, the theme of which was " It's not a show: How EOS is real." Get rid of Block. One? "

Their conversation covered the history of EOS, the origins of the EOS Network Foundation, and the fascinating story of how the EOS community regained sovereignty over the network's development after years of inaction by Block.one.

Weekly EOS Community Events

Here is a list of EOS community events you can attend this week:

EOS network

The EOS network is a model of the blockchain 3.0 era, powered by the EOS VM. EOS VM is a low-latency, high-performance and scalable WebAssembly engine that can achieve deterministic transaction execution with almost no sense. The EOS network is designed specifically for Web3 and is committed to the best possible Web3 user and developer experience. EOS is the flagship blockchain and financial center of the Antelope protocol, and uses the EOS Network Foundation (ENF) as a tool for multi-chain collaboration and the development of public infrastructure products to further improve the infrastructure and drive the rapid development of EOS.

EOS EVM

The EOS EVM is a simulation of the Ethereum EVM and resides in EOS smart contracts. The EOS EVM will offer parity with other EVMs in the space, but with unrivaled speed, performance and compatibility advantages. EOS EVM connects the EOS ecosystem with the Ethereum ecosystem, allowing developers to deploy a large number of Solidity-based digital assets and innovative dApps on EOS. Developers can use the EOS EVM to take advantage of Ethereum’s battle-tested open-source code, tools, libraries, and SDKs while leveraging the superior performance of EOS.

EOS Network Foundation

The EOS Network Foundation (ENF) was born to create a prosperous, decentralized and future for the EOS ecosystem. By encouraging the active participation of major stakeholders in the EOS ecosystem, supporting community projects, providing ecosystem funding, and supporting the construction of an open technology ecosystem, ENF is setting off a new round of Web3 transformation. As the center of the EOS network and a leading open source platform, ENF was established in 2021 and has a stable set of frameworks, tools and blockchain deployment libraries. Together we innovate in community building and work to build a stronger future for all.
