3/28/2024: SBF Gets 25 Years!

Today is the sentencing day for SBF. SBF was convicted of 7 criminal charges last November and today he is sentenced to 25 years in prison. Please click on the screenshot above to see what exactly was being said in the sentencing court. SBF’s lawyer is trying to paint him as someone who is well intentioned but unlucky. SBF said he made a series of bad decisions and the liquidity problem caused the collapse and for that, he was sorry.  But there were enough assets to pay back the customers. It was just a short term liquidity issue.  Obviously he still doesn’t get it. The customer funds are not his money to spend and if he didn’t spend the money that didn’t belong to him, there wouldn’t have been a liquidity problem.  I personally think the 25-year sentence is fair. He will be spending his prime years in prison instead of taking stupid bets that have positive EV but could end up producing the worst outcomes ruining people’s lives.
