Odaily Odaily reported that OpenAI held a meeting with film and television industry giants such as Paramount, Universal and Warner Bros. to demonstrate its video generation technology Sora model. CEO Sam Altman and COO Brad Lightcap introduced Sora to executives, multiple people familiar with the matter said. OpenAI is seeking input from movie studios on how to market Sora, people involved in the meeting said. OpenAI’s “overture” comes at a delicate moment in Hollywood. Last year's months-long strike ended with the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild winning groundbreaking protections for artificial intelligence in their contracts. This year, with contract negotiations underway for the International Federation of Theatrical Stage Employees, artificial intelligence is expected to become a hot-button issue again. Sources say some studios appear to be open to using Sora in future film or television productions, but licensing and collaboration have not yet been discussed. (Financial Times)
