EigenLayer reStaking protocol and EigenDA data availability solution have officially been launched on Ethereum's mainnet.

According to a notice posted on April 10, EigenLayer said it has deployed a reStaking protocol on Ethereum, and also provides a data availability solution, EigenDA, to projects operating on the world's second largest blockchain network.
Users participating in reStaking on EigenLayer can now begin delegating ETH assets and ETH Liquid Staking Token to operators, the components that operate transaction verification software. These operators are also allowed to develop active validated service (AVS) applications, which use ETH reStaking from EigenLayer to ensure the security of their products.

According to EigenLayer's website, this protocol currently has 56 operators, with 13 AVS units ensuring security for 9 layer-2 Ethereum.
Not only that, AVSs can also start using the beta version of EigenDA, which brings data availability functionality to ensure operators have enough historical data to ensure transaction accuracy, reducing costs. Stores data for node operators.
However, EigenLayer announced that it will not apply the in-network payment mechanism or Slashing penalty, to help the ecosystem stabilize during the mainnet deployment. These features will be updated in the second half of 2024.
