Welcome to choose the Bitlayer network. Next, we will show you a nanny-level tutorial~
Because Bitlayer is the Layer2 of BTC, it only supports BTC wallets. Currently, Bitlayer cooperates with BTC wallets such as OKX, Bitget, and Unisat. This article will take the OKX wallet as an example. If you have not created an OKX wallet, you can refer to the OKX wallet creation tutorial here: https://www.okx.com/zh-han/help/how-do-i-create-import-an-okx-wallet
Bitlayer is a BTC Layer2 public chain that supports the EVM chain, so after linking the BTC wallet, you also need to link a wallet that supports the EVM chain (MetaMask / OKX Wallet / Bitget Wallet / Tokenpocket / WalletConnect). If you don’t have MetaMask / OKX Wallet / Bitget Wallet / Tokenpocket / WalletConnect, you need to create it. The creation process is similar to that of OKX Wallet, so I won’t go into details here.
So before cross-chain, you need to prepare: [BTC], [Unisat Wallet / MetaMask / OKX Wallet / Bitget Wallet / Tokenpocket / WalletConnect]
1. Open the Bitlayer official website: bitlayer.org, click [Bridge&Earn]
2. Click [Connect Wallet] to connect your wallet
3. Click [OKX Wallet],
4. After linking your wallet, enter the amount of BTC you want to transfer to Bitlayer. Please check whether your BTC balance meets the following requirements:
(1) Please note that the minimum deposit amount set by Bitlayer is 0.0005 BTC.
(2) The balance is reserved for the cross-chain fee (the cross-chain fee is 0.00015 BTC), that is, (Balance) minus (Amount) should be greater than or equal to 0.00015.
5. Click [Connect Wallet]. Choose one from MetaMask / OKX Wallet / Bitget Wallet / Tokenpocket / WalletConnect.
6. I chose OKX wallet here. The process for other wallets is similar. Click [Connect]
7. As shown in the following figure, the wallet has been successfully connected
8. Finally, click [Transfer], the OKX wallet pops up, click [sign] to sign
9. After signing, your bill will pop up. [Pending] means that the cross-chain transaction is still being processed on the chain. The length of time depends on the congestion on the chain. When [Completed] appears, it means that you have successfully cross-chained. The arrow is your BTC address on Bitlayer.
10. Congratulations, you have successfully completed a cross-chain transaction. This will be the starting point for you to participate in the Bitlayer ecosystem (Bitlayer encourages users to explore and try a large number of projects within the ecosystem through cross-chain transactions)
In addition, Bitlayer's official cross-chain bridge currently only supports BTC cross-chain, and will support more assets in the future.
