The Arbitrum blockchain uses Rollup to combine multiple transactions into one, thereby reducing transaction costs on the chain and improving scalability. This enables Arbitrum to achieve a throughput of up to 40,000 transactions per second at a much lower gas cost than the Ethereum mainnet.
