Sibarium, the layer-2 scaling solution for the Sibainu ecosystem, is about to undergo a major upgrade that will increase security and scalability.
Lucy, Marketing Director of Sibainu, announced that this upgrade will target Sibarium’s testnet, Puppynet.
PuppyNet to Update Bringing Ethereum's 'Best Practices to Sibarium'
Puppynet is scheduled to undergo an upgrade at block 46.97 at 2:30 AM ET on Friday. The changes include the implementation of the Bor upgrade version 1.3.7-bone-beta and the Cancun hard fork. These improvements will improve network performance, security, and overall efficiency, providing a smoother experience for users.
“This upgrade is for PuppyNet and is very important for developers! We are introducing some great changes that will make it run more smoothly, faster, and more secure,” Lucy explained .
The upgrade will integrate Geth, Ethereum’s core software, into Sybarium’s testnet, speeding up smart contract execution, improving peer-to-peer networking, and making block propagation more efficient. It will also strengthen the network’s proof-of-stake (PoS) bridge, facilitating asset transfers between Sybarium and other blockchains.

Additionally, this update will optimize gas fees to make transactions cheaper, and clean up historical block data to save disk space, keeping Sybarium lean as it grows. Security enhancements will ensure a more secure network with improved error handling, vulnerability patches , and bug fixes.
After the upgrade, users can expect faster transactions, better security, stable cross-chain transfers, and improved disk management. Lucy emphasized that these updates can increase the adoption of Sybarium , which can increase the SHIB token burn rate .
“We need millions (even billions) of users to significantly reduce the supply! Our plan is to build a great system that attracts a lot of people. The more users that use Cibarium every day, the more SHIB we can burn, which increases its value over time,” Lucy explained .
The Shiba Inu Ecosystem Team recommends node operators update their software to version 1.3.7-bone-beta ahead of the Cancun hard fork.
