On September 18, according to official information, the Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer announced the launch of a new programmatic incentive mechanism version 1. It will reward qualified stakers and their delegated operators with newly minted EIGEN tokens on a weekly programmatic basis.

These rewards will be retroactively effective based on the staking situation from August 15, 2024, and will be distributed weekly starting from October 2024.
