On-chain UX ecosystem WalletConnect announced its name change to Reown and will launch its native token Connect Token (WCT). WCT will be launched on the Optimism mainnet with an initial supply cap of 1 billion, and multiple airdrop seasons are planned to start at the end of 2024. In addition, the WalletConnect Foundation has also been established to support the growth, security and decentralization of the WalletConnect network and the expansion of the ecosystem. WalletConnect founder Pedro Gomes joins the foundation as a director.
