Odaily Planet Daily Report: Rune Christensen, the founder of Sky (formerly MakerDAO), posted that the supply of USDS exceeded 200 million within 18 hours of its launch. Its primary use case is as a reward for SKY tokens. Previously, on August 27, it was reported that MakerDAO would undergo a rebranding, with the Maker protocol being renamed to Sky, and its decentralized stablecoin Dai being renamed to "USDS". Additionally, the Maker protocol will introduce a native governance token called Sky (SKY). MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen stated that this rebranding is a step towards the "next evolution of DeFi". Like MakerDAO, the Sky Protocol remains decentralized, community-managed, and non-custodial.

Odaily reports that Sky (MakerDAO) has passed a proposal to unwind a $200 million WBTC collateral asset exposure, which will be carried out in five phases. The first step will begin on October 3, and the final phase will be completed by November 28.
