Harris raised $189 million in campaign funds in August, four times more than Trump

Odaily Odaily News: The latest Federal Election Commission documents show that US Vice President Harris raised and spent far more money than former President Trump in August, and she will have more cash at the end of the month to make a final sprint for the November election. Harris' campaign team raised more than $189 million in August, more than four times the $44 million raised by the Trump campaign team. These figures reflect funds raised specifically for the candidate's main campaign account and do not include donations to other departments of their political activities. Harris' campaign team announced earlier this month that the total campaign donations raised in August in conjunction with the Democratic National Committee and fundraising committees were $361 million. In contrast, the Trump campaign team and its joint fundraising committees raised only $130 million. These figures do not include donations in September, including $47 million in cash raised by the Harris campaign team from nearly 600,000 donors in the 24 hours after the first and only debate between Harris and Trump. Harris' campaign team accepted CNN's invitation on Saturday to hold a second debate on October 23, but Trump has so far firmly stated that he will not participate in the debate. (CNBC)
