The Scroll Foundation announced that it plans to build a global community along with the token launch and will be executing a token airdrop. The foundation plans to distribute Scrolls by selecting those who have contributed to the establishment of the Scroll ecosystem as the top priority for token distribution.
The initial token distribution recipients revealed by the Scroll Foundation are participants who have contributed to Scroll on-chain activities, including ▲projects and developers within the Scroll network ▲Scroll global community operators ▲Scroll Hackathon winners ▲Devcon participants.
Scroll uses industry-leading zero-knowledge technology to deliver the fastest network throughput of any Ethereum rollup to date, while providing superior security and interoperability.
Meanwhile, the Scroll Foundation announced that it will introduce a new rewards program, Scroll Open, to expand the Scroll community starting with the token launch. Scroll Open is a rewards program targeting the most innovative, creative, and fast-growing developers on the Scroll Network, and will provide a total of $100 million in Scroll grants to developers.
“The launch of Scroll Token is a symbolic step forward in the evolution of the protocol,” said Raza Zaidi, Scroll’s Head of Development. “The Scroll Token will strengthen the decentralization of Scroll governance and technical infrastructure.”
“In line with the foundation’s mission to build a secure and decentralized society, we are launching the Scroll token,” said Sandy Peng, Scroll co-founder. “More tokens will be provided in the future to provide greater rewards to those who contribute more to the community.”
He continued, “The launch of Scroll Tokens will accelerate the growth of the Scroll community.”
