PANews reported on October 27 that according to Cointelegraph, Coinbase has launched a new tool called Based Agent, which allows users to set up their own AI agents using a crypto wallet in just three minutes. Once created, the agents can handle various on-chain tasks, from trading to swapping and staking.
Coinbase developer Lincoln Murr explained in a video on the X platform: "The goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to start building your own AI agent." Murr explained that Based Agent is a template that allows users to build AI agents (intended to perform specific tasks, or "bots") and access various smart contract functionalities. Once set up, the AI agent can integrate with smart contracts to execute swaps, trades, and staking, and register its own base name. He noted that the template was built using Coinbase's software development kit (SDK), as well as technology from OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, and the software creation platform Replit.
