In a remarkable development, Bit coin creator Satoshi Nakamoto has joined the ranks of the world's wealthiest individuals. With the soaring value of Bit coin, Nakamoto's estimated holdings have propelled him to the 19th position on the global billionaire list. Bit coin historian Pete Rizzo shared this fact in a recent tweet: "At a Bit coin price of $90,000, Satoshi Nakamoto is now the 19th richest person in the world."
Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonym of the individual or group that developed Bit coin, wrote the Bit coin white paper, and created and deployed the original Bit coin reference implementation.
It is estimated that Nakamoto holds around one million Bit coins, which have remained untouched since their creation. With the Bit coin price reaching new highs, the value of these holdings has grown significantly. According to a screenshot shared by Rizzo, these Bit coins are now worth $90 billion, placing Nakamoto as the 19th richest person in the world.
However, despite recent claims, including a documentary on HBO and statements from certain dubious individuals, no one knows who Satoshi Nakamoto is. The search for Nakamoto's identity has been ongoing for years, but the answer remains elusive.
Bit coin broke through $93,000 on Wednesday, setting a new all-time high, and this upward trend shows no signs of slowing down. In recent weeks, the world's largest cryptocurrency, Bit coin, has been one of the most closely watched market movements, with its price reaching a record high of $93,495 before slightly retreating.
At the time of writing, Bit coin (BTC) has risen 4.56% in the past 24 hours, reaching $91,311, and has gained 22% in the past week. This still makes the previous $100,000 price target seem within reach. According to Deribit data, there is a concentration of Bit coin call option bets targeting a breach of $100,000. Inflows into U.S. Bit coin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have surpassed $1 billion this week.
While Galaxy Digital CEO Michael Novogratz believes the likelihood of the U.S. establishing a Bit coin strategic reserve is low, he noted that if such a plan were implemented, Bit coin's price could soar to $500,000.
