PANews reported on December 22 that according to Crowdfund Insider, a recent study by ApeX listed the top 10 leading countries in the blockchain and cryptocurrency technology sector, with Singapore topping the list. The study used a composite index to evaluate the countries, reflecting the development and adoption of blockchain through three core metrics: blockchain patents, blockchain technology job positions, and the number of cryptocurrency exchanges.
Singapore topped the list. The country has over 2,400 job positions related to blockchain technology, and is also one of the countries with the highest concentration of global cryptocurrency exchanges, with 81 platforms.
Hong Kong ranked second in the blockchain and cryptocurrency technology sector. Its financial infrastructure seamlessly integrates blockchain, and it has over 1,100 job positions in the blockchain technology field and cryptocurrency exchanges to support it.
Estonia ranked third. It has 95 blockchain patents, 149 blockchain-related job positions, and 52 cryptocurrency exchanges.
Switzerland ranked fourth. Its leadership in the decentralized finance sector is attributed to 440 blockchain-related job positions and 32 cryptocurrency exchanges.
The United States ranked fifth. The US has 32,000 blockchain patents and over 17,000 blockchain-related job positions, as well as 166 cryptocurrency exchanges.
Canada ranked sixth. The country offers over 1,200 blockchain-related job positions, 1,200 blockchain patents, and 32 cryptocurrency exchanges.
Australia ranked seventh. The country has developed 1,400 blockchain patents, has 573 blockchain-related job positions, and 31 cryptocurrency exchanges.
South Korea ranked eighth. The country has 18,000 blockchain patents, ranking second among all the studied countries. Its labor force is relatively small, with 121 blockchain-related job positions and 29 cryptocurrency exchanges.
The United Kingdom ranked ninth. The country has 95 cryptocurrency exchanges, 2,673 blockchain-related job positions, and 2,800 blockchain patents.
The United Arab Emirates ranked tenth. The country has 340 blockchain patents, 414 blockchain-related job positions, and 9 cryptocurrency exchanges.
