Mippo: 1) The United States will regain its position as the global center of cryptocurrency. Founders will move back to New York and open offices. The scale of conferences in the US will surpass Asia. 2) Over 10 DeFi protocols will eventually turn on fee switches, including Uniswap. 3) As a business model, DeFi protocols will increasingly re-collateralize client assets, including bridges, LST, and others. 4) The Ethereum North Star debate will be resolved. Efforts to scale L1 will be minimal (Gas target reaching 50 million gwei, discussions around shorter block times will heat up), but they will ultimately reaffirm the Rollup-centric roadmap. 5) This will bring much-needed cohesion to Ethereum, and the sentiment will become more positive. A certain number of dissenters will leave the ecosystem in frustration. The ETH token price will perform well. 6) Optimistic Rollups will not take off by 2025. Sufficient interoperability will be achieved through protocols like Across, but they will not reach the level of general synchronous composability. 7) TEEs will become a component of L2 infrastructure (and eventually a permanent one). 8) Continuing last year's prediction, this is still Solana's cycle. However, cracks will begin to appear in 2025. With the fragmentation of memecoins and the challenges posed by MEV, REV will struggle to reach new highs. Authoritarianism will rise to address these issues. 9) Firedancer will be delivered in Q4, achieving 100k TPS. 10) Solana will change its issuance policy to reduce inflation, while Ethereum will not. 11) Base will emerge as a breakthrough competitor to Solana and the winner of the Rollup ecosystem. 12) Base will become the dominant chain for AI agents (and potential AI offshoots). 13) Stablecoins will become the primary asset held on L2s, with a total value at least double that of ETH. 14) 2025 will be a breakthrough year for stablecoins, with a market cap exceeding $450 billion. Stablecoins will become one of the top three investment categories for venture capital. 15) More than 5 major fintech companies or TradFi institutions will launch stablecoins in 2025, putting pressure on existing stablecoins and slowing their growth rates.
