According to ChainCatcher, U.S. Treasury Secretary Becerra stated in an exclusive Bloomberg interview that the current tariff levels on China are unsustainable, and a "major agreement" will be reached in the future. He also indicated that negotiations with some allied countries regarding reciprocal tariffs are progressing rapidly, and suggested that other countries should quickly engage in trade talks with the United States.
Regarding the current U.S. tariffs on China, Becerra responded in the interview that the current tariff figures are very high and not something to be taken lightly, saying, "I think no one believes they are sustainable, and no one wants them to remain in place." He stated, "There's a big deal to be done at some point."
