The Central Bank of Russia is preparing for large-scale digitization of the payment system. Anna Katamadze, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, stated that the digital ruble payment network is planned to be launched in 2026, at which time citizens will be able to use this payment tool through digital wallets on the Central Bank of Russia platform.
