Running an airdrop: what worked and what didn't 🧵
Recently Splits orchestrated an art campaign that connected a sequence of NFT mints and airdrops. This was an experiment in:
1) consumer composability,
2) onchain distribution as a form of marketing.

One thing that worked was the tool Infector by @taydotfun, made for airdropping Base tokens.
Infector was the glue between Rodeo, Clanker, and Manifold.
Straightforward, easy to use, takes advantage of onchain data ✅

Creating coins is going through a cultural shift.
Let's dive into why a new airdrop tool is needed... 👇
The bigger problem is fundamental.
The basic benefit of an airdrop is that people like free money, so they pay attention to your project.
Unfortunately, people like free money too much, which makes the wrong people pay attention.

All that said, don't count us out! Onchain distribution — as marketing, and otherwise — is an important problem space. We will continue tinkering, and sharing our findings 🫡
