ToggleJustin Sun and Star Discuss Trondao Stolen Funds Remotely
Recently, the official Twitter of @trondao was hacked, and Justin Sun subsequently stated on Twitter (now deleted): We urgently call on OKX to immediately freeze and investigate the fraudulent funds deposited after the @trondao Twitter account was stolen. We believe OKX will quickly and responsibly take action to ensure its platform does not become a haven for fraud. He also stated that law enforcement agencies have intervened and are actively investigating the case, attaching related addresses.
Subsequently, Star quoted the post and stated: "Dear Mr. Justin Sun, OKX has an open LE (Law Enforcement) cooperation policy. You can use public reporting channels to provide preliminary evidence of the incident, and we will conduct a temporary emergency freeze based on the evidence. Then you should cooperate with law enforcement and provide us with legal documents for continued freezing. OKX also has a policy of protecting consumers according to the law, and we cannot freeze customers' funds based on your personal X post or verbal communication. I believe as the CEO of HTX, you should understand this."
He subsequently added: "Dear Mr. Sun, our law enforcement cooperation team just checked the email (including spam), and we have not received any requests related to this case. Could you provide us with screenshots of when law enforcement agencies send requests to us?" Justin Sun then stated in the comments that he would privately message the OKX team. Star further questioned whether Justin Sun's team or law enforcement agencies had even issued a formal request to OKX. The case was left unresolved as Justin Sun deleted his initial post.
Theft and Argument Just to Hype News?
On May 4th at dawn, Justin Sun suddenly announced: "We will work together with OKX Pay to seek solutions to reduce gas fees and improve user experience! Stay tuned!" This statement also left the community puzzled, with some questioning whether the entire Trondao theft incident, including the remote dialogue with Star, was just to generate news. Some also questioned why two Chinese people were conversing in English.
