According to ChainCatcher, PayPal has officially announced that the company will launch a payment service in physical stores in Germany this summer. This is PayPal's first in-store payment feature in Germany, allowing users to make payments at merchants supporting Mastercard contactless payments through the PayPal App (iOS and Android).
The service includes three main functions: first, contactless mobile payments; second, launching the PayPal Ratenzahlung To Go installment payment service, supporting 3, 6, 12, and 24-month installments; third, users can activate offers in the PayPal App and receive cashback when using contactless payments at designated merchants in Germany.
Joerg Kablitz, Managing Director of PayPal in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, stated that this is the largest product development investment PayPal has made in Germany, and the service will be rolled out nationwide in the coming weeks.
