On May 15, according to TheBlock, crypto market maker Wintermute announced that it will open its first US headquarters in downtown Manhattan, New York, on June 1. At the same time, it appointed Ron Hammond, a policy veteran, as the head of policy and advocacy.
Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy stated: "As the US policy towards digital assets and blockchain innovation becomes more friendly, we decided to act quickly and establish a foundation in New York City, the world's financial capital." This move comes at a time when the Trump administration took a supportive stance towards the crypto industry, including appointing crypto-friendly regulatory heads.
