PANews reported on May 15th that Bitlayer, a project based on Bitcoin ecosystem BitVM technology, announced a collaboration with high-performance public chain Sui. The two parties will jointly deploy a trust-minimized BTC bridge solution called BitVM Bridge and promote the integration and adoption of Peg-BTC (YBTC), a core component of BitVM Bridge, in the Sui ecosystem.
With the launch of Peg-BTC (YBTC), users will be able to explore diverse DeFi scenarios such as asset exchange, lending, and staking on the Sui network. This collaboration also marks a key breakthrough in the multi-chain ecosystem layout of BitVM Bridge. As the first BTCFi infrastructure built on BitVM, BitVM Bridge has now established partnerships with 7 mainstream public chains and protocols including Sui, Base, Starknet, Arbitrum, Sonic, Plume Network, and Sundial, with plans to expand to more ecosystems. According to official sources, BitVM Bridge has entered the final testing phase and is expected to launch on the mainnet soon.
