Idle GPUs and CPUs now have a new purpose: mining.
Tari is a blockchain protocol centered on digital assets, built with Rust, privacy-focused by default, open-source, and being designed as a sidechain for merged mining with Monero. Tari enables creators to design new types of stories and experiences, where digitally scarce assets or collectibles will open up new business opportunities for creators.
Tari has received support from renowned investment institutions like Pantera Capital. The Tari mainnet was officially launched on May 6, 2025, marking the project's transition from the testing phase to full operation. After 2,863 days of development, Tari is now open for users to participate in mining and ecosystem building.
It is recommended to use a virtual machine or an idle overseas server to run it, but the official source seems to not provide a server-side program. This runs on XMRig, which is the program for mining Monero.
Guide
1. Visit the Tari website, log in with Twitter, and directly click to download the software, which is available for all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux)
2. For Windows, simply install directly. After installation, you need to authorize Twitter login. The interface will look like this:
3. Please close antivirus software like Huorong, otherwise the process will be terminated. It is recommended to use a virtual machine or a PC without important data.
