Avalanche Collaborates with Bowmore to Launch Tokenized Whisky, Opening a New Era for Rare Liquor Collection.

On August 18th, the blockchain technology and high-end liquor collection communities simultaneously took notice when Bowmore – a renowned whisky distillery from Scotland – officially announced a partnership with Avalanche, an open-source Layer-1 blockchain platform, to launch the world's first tokenized whisky collection. This is not just a collaboration between a whisky brand with over 200 years of history and an advanced blockchain ecosystem, but also marks a turning point in the way of owning and trading premium physical assets.
According to the plan, this special whisky collection will be announced at the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore on September 30th, 2025. Pre-orders have already started, attracting strong interest from whisky collectors and blockchain technology enthusiasts.
Each Bowmore whisky bottle in this collection will be linked to a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) issued on the Avalanche C-chain. This allows each bottle to be not just a physical masterpiece but also a "digital certificate" with transparency, immutability, and easy verification on the blockchain. Notably, each bottle is integrated with an NFC chip for owners to verify its origin, preventing counterfeiting – a persistent issue in the rare liquor market.
In the launch collection, Bowmore offers two special editions. The Collector's Edition, priced at 5,500 USD, is limited to 8 sets, including a 30-year-aged whisky bottle with a custom-designed crystal glass set. Uniquely, owners of this edition will be invited to a direct meeting with Professor Emin Gün Sirer – founder of Ava Labs, who played a crucial role in making Avalanche one of the fastest and most scalable blockchains today. Meanwhile, the Classic Edition, priced at 180 USD, is limited to 150 bottles of 12-year-old whisky, seen as a more accessible opportunity for new collectors.
This year's TOKEN2049 event in Singapore promises to be a focal point as Bowmore and Avalanche will host a special party at Wakuda restaurant, where the 8 Collector's Edition owners will be invited. This is not just a luxurious party, but also an opportunity to meet top blockchain figures, major investors, and rare whisky enthusiasts.
Notably, this event occurs against the backdrop of a global explosion in Real World Assets (RWA) tokenization trend. From real estate and art to precious metals, bringing physical assets onto the blockchain is opening up a market worth trillions of dollars. Even the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump – who returned to the White House after his late 2024 victory – has emphasized the importance of promoting blockchain innovation in finance and commerce. These moves show that tokenization is no longer just a trend, but the future of asset ownership.
