The US House of Representatives is considering incorporating a "national law banning CBDC surveillance" into its cryptocurrency market structure bill.

Cointelegraph reports that the US House of Representatives is discussing incorporating the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act, passed in July, into the existing Digital Asset Market Structure Act (CLARITY). If adopted, the final comprehensive bill would then be sent to the Senate for consideration. Republican lawmakers had previously attempted to explicitly prohibit CBDC issuance during the vote on the GENIUS Act, a bill regulating stablecoins, but it ultimately passed as a standalone bill.
