Version 0.5.4 addresses several key issues reported by community node operators in version 0.5.3, including failures affecting node mining rewards, automatic updates, and block container creation. The new version introduces a new open port verification mechanism, enabling more reliable node reward calculations, a crucial step towards the larger goal of migrating node mining rewards.
User experience upgrade
The Pi Launcher app now supports opening approved external links, allowing users to access blog posts and resource content linked from the mining app and Pi App Studio. Pi App Studio is now directly accessible from the top navigation bar of the Pi Launcher, displayed alongside the Pi mining app and nodes, and a display issue where deployed apps were not showing previews correctly has been fixed.
These updates further reinforce Pi Node's dual role as a core component of the blockchain and a practical tool platform for the ecosystem.
