US manufacturing jobs are still trending lower:
The US manufacturing sector shed -5,000 jobs in November, marking its 7th consecutive monthly decline.
Over this stretch, manufacturing employment has fallen by -67,000 jobs, to 12.7 million, the lowest since March 2022.
Since January 2023, manufacturing jobs have declined in 20 out of 35 months.
Meanwhile, the ISM Manufacturing Employment Index, a leading indicator for manufacturing jobs, has contracted for 10 straight months.
This suggests manufacturing employment pressure is set to persist.
The US manufacturing sector needs help.
