As I’m still adjusting to it being 2026, this morning it hit me… on Monday it will be the 10 yr anniversary of the first @BOBmeetupCHI 😱 The meetup was of course started by @bitcoinmom & @pamelawjd but I volunteered for duty at that first event Jan 12th 2016! I’m going to be slightly childish here and do an ‘I told you so’. I got a lot of… let’s say, confusion, from people when I got involved in the meetups. But at that point I had already been in love with Bitcoin for 4 years and I knew. I knew this technology was sticking around, I knew being at these events that I would gain all sorts of insights and meet all sorts of wonderful people that I’d still be working with a decade later, and I was very correct. As always, organizing community events is an amazing way to launch a career. Highly recommend it.
