Sen. Tim Scott, who chaired the hearing and sparked the line of questioning at the center of the DOJ's investigation of the Fed, said he didn't think Powell committed perjury at that hearing.
"I do not believe that [Powell] committed a crime."
Scott predicted that a standoff with Sen. Thom Tillis over the probe would be resolved in a way that allows the Warsh nomination to proceed.
Tillis told CNBC that nothing Powell said has been shown to be "factually incorrect. So I think it's vindictive. I think it's frivolous."
