My tldr on the Vitalik stuff was: Make your L2 differentiated and useful because we're actively scaling the L1 and your L2 won't matter if you're just a little cheaper, but undifferentiated, and have a 1 week bridge to the main chain. L1 will always be the canonical source of trust and truth, you have to bring something that builds on that and is differentiated and useful and has pmf. That's it. Go nuts. This is the way institutions are building on and with Ethereum.
