Wishing the national team good luck at the Winter Olympics
"The passion of players who challenge their limits is Upbit's driving force."
At 6 PM local time on the 5th (around 2 AM on the 6th in Korea time), Upbit donated digital assets to the Korea House, which is being operated in Milan, Italy, where the Winter Olympics are being held, to support the challenging spirit of the national athletes and the development of winter sports in Korea.
Enhypen's Sunghoon, a former figure skater and current ambassador for the Korean Sports Council, attended the donation ceremony, adding to the event's significance.
Upbit will continue its support activities for the national athletes in various ways, such as launching a campaign to send messages of support to all 71 national athletes during the Olympic period, starting with the opening ceremony on the 6th (Korean time) and continuing until the 22nd, and hosting Olympic-themed events on the Upbit app.
Upbit signed an official sponsorship agreement with the Korea Sports Council last October and will remain as the official sponsor of the Korea Sports Council until December 2028.
Yoo Seung-min, Chairman of the Korea Sports Council, said, "The special donation from Upbit, a strong official partner, will be a great motivation for the athletes," and added, "We will use the donations we received to develop winter sports in Korea, including nurturing young athletes in winter sports."
Upbit CEO Oh Kyung-seok said, "The passion of the national athletes who challenge their limits at the Winter Olympics, the world's greatest stage, is in line with the values of innovation that Upbit pursues," and added, "We will send our support through Bitcoin, the most innovative asset, so that the sweat and tears of the athletes can lead to valuable results and the continued development of our country's winter sports."
